TravisMathew, a California-based golf apparel brand, has launched a new line of apparel called “The Eco Collection” made from 98% organic cotton or 62% polyester blend fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.

The golf industry is not known for being particularly eco-friendly, with fertilisers, pesticides, fungicides and other chemical aids being used for perfect greens, plus travel to international courses. The TravisMathew brand is trying to change that, with a new upcycled collection. Made from recycled plastic bottles, the Eco Collection retains the same quality and designs as the classic lines. TravisMathew had already committed to such initiatives: the headquarters is equipped with reusable utensils, recycling programs, charging stations for electric vehicles run on solar energy …

Every action counts in this fight for a more sustainable world

And that’s not all, from September 20th to December 15th, the brand is committed to donating 100% of the profits from The Eco Collection to the Surfrider Foundation (an international environmental NGO for the protection of the ocean and its users), in other words a minimum of $100,000. The brand’s CEO, Ryan Ellis, is well aware of these environmental issues and is keen to ensure that the brand is committed to sustainable development!
