Copernicus satellites have measured the average concentration of carbon dioxide in parts per million (or ppm) in the atmosphere during 2021 at 414ppm: an all-time record. The US Oceanic and Atmospheric Observing Agency also reports a CO2 concentration of 417.8 ppm in January 2022, an increase of more than 2 ppm over the previous year.
